Friends In Faith
Baptist Fellowship

Who are we?  That’s a good question.  At first glance, some may think that any church is just like another.  But, at a closer look, all churches have certain things that characterize them.  What characterizes Friends in Faith Baptist Fellowship?  Take a look at these five things:

Ours is a short history.  So short, it could be more of a booklet than a novel!  Friends In Faith had its beginning when Stephen Lee, Pastor of Brookside Baptist Church in Maryland Heights, MO, felt the Lord lead him to establish a new Baptist church in the Northwestern St. Charles County area.  In September of 2006, the Henley’s combined with the Lee’s, sharing that same desire.

The first meetings were in the Lee’s living room, and as new families came into sharing that desire, we moved into other rooms of the house.  Since then, we have met in various rental places, most recently at Greenbier Montessori Academy.

Although we are a young church, we have ancient roots.  Since Jesus’ ministry on earth, there have been immersed believers assembling together to serve God according to the teachings of the Bible.  We proudly look back at that heritage and gladly look forward to what God will do with us.

Eventually, we hope to have a building and land we can call our own.  Until then, we are content to meet where we can knowing that how you worship is more important than where it is done.

As a masterpiece is more than paint on canvas, a church is more than religious acts and a building.  At Friends In Faith, our primary purpose is to worship God as He wants.  Therefore, according to John 4:24, we are a spiritual organization focused on the truth of God’s Word.  In fact, all of our worship is based upon the Bible because without it, we would never be able to know or understand God whom it reveals.

If you should ever visit us at Friends In Faith (and we really hope you do!), here’s what you’ll find on a typical Sunday:

· We begin our service with prayer and a song or two.  Sometimes we sing a traditional hymn accompanied by a piano and sometimes we sing with a contemporary song on CD.

· After this, Pastor Steve brings a message from God’s Word.

· Folks are usually due for a break at this point, so we take a few minutes before we begin our classes.  The kids have a lesson for themselves while the adults discuss the sermon, a question from the class, or a lesson Pastor Steve brings.

· Singing, prayer, and worship comes next as we all meet together again.  We sing songs together, are sometimes blessed by someone’s talent, and share prayer requests and concerns.

You might notice that passing the offering plate is missing from this description.  While we graciously accept people’s donations, we never expect our visitors to feel burdened to give.

The name Friends in Faith Baptist Fellowship is a name that we try to be.  We started by friends who shared common beliefs coming together and worshiping.  As we have grown, this is what we have desired for our church: people who not only go to church together, but also share common beliefs in the spirit of Christian love.  This is what true Biblical fellowship is all about, making church a congregation of people who serve God and love each other.  Friends in Faith is just that, a congregation of believers who seek to have fellowship with God and each other.

We are proudly affiliated with the American Baptist Association.  We also enjoy the fellowship of our sister churches in the Central States Association and elsewhere.  We are grateful to our sponsoring church, First Baptist Church of Bryant, AR.
